After 20 years in South Africa, and 15 of those with Rhodesian Ridgebacks, I returned to my native Sweden in May 2002. I brought with me my two dogs, Orangelad (generally known as Churchill), and Lionesque Clementine.

Their first litter was born in July 2002, and the three puppies grew up in a truly domestic environment; all my carpets now seem a wee (!) bit more worn than they were prior to this event. A second litter was born in November 2003, a third in August 2004, a fourth in June 2006 … and so we carry on!

In my opinion, physically and mentally sound dogs do become man’s best friend, and that is what I am aiming for. If they are beautiful to boot; well, that’s a bonus!

As to the name of my kennels; Inanda is a Zulu word which means The Beautiful Place, and Mellberg was the name of my home in Sweden. And as Mellberg really was/is a very beautiful old farm, the combination seemed an obvious one … Inanda Mellberg, The Beautiful Place Mellberg!

In 2014 I took the decision to sell Mellberg, and move back to South Africa. I transferred my kennel name, from the SKK to KUSA, and then continued my breeding and my involvement with Rhodesian Ridgebacks in South  Africa.

While I was on the SRRS Central Committee, and active in the early stages of planning the 2016 RRWC in Sweden, I am no longer a member of the SRRS or the SKK. I am however a full member of both KUSA and the SRRC, and I am on the SARRC Committee where I have made myself responsible for non-showing and non-breeding activities.
